Wearing a heart rate monitor is a great way to keep yourself motivated; having tangible proof of your exercise efforts pushes you to work harder, and allows you to see what you’ve accomplished. The monitor’s chest strap, however, is not always the most comfortable thing to wear.
There is a new solution — at least for women. The Numetrex sports bra, made by Textronics in collaboration with Polar, has sensors sewn into the band of fabric. The sensors then send the heart rate information to a small transmitter, also in the bra, which then is relayed to a watch or a properly equipped treadmill.
The bra retails for $45, the transmitter for $30, and the watch varies depending on the model. You can find more information and purchased it online here.
You can find a review of the system here.
